Knot Calendar (2010-11) 10'h x 14'w x 2"d; rope, wood, paper, pencil, water color
This Calendar was a daily record of both dates and ideas during my second year of graduate school. The wall began with 9 ropes, each to represent a month, their shadow painted on the wall as a record of what was there. The number of days of each month is tied in knots on the rope. I cut a knot daily and draw a sketch of an idea then place both on the accompanying shelves.
